E-learning Experimental school (Jan 2012 - ongoing)
In order to enrich the education experience, make learning more interesting for rural school-going students and to bring them at par with their urban counterparts, Foundation for Communities Learning (FCL), collaborated with HMF’s Rural Science Centre and drew up a workable e-learning strategy.
In the year 2012, 25 schools that were connected with the Rural Science Centre were selected and a kit comprising of a hard disk containing updated information on various subjects appropriate to the 8th,9th and 10th Grade students, a monitor and an LCD projector were given. FCL provides updated information to schools and is stored in the hard disk. HMF’s Rural Science Centre manages the entire process and is a link between the schools and FCL resources.
This arrangement proved particularly beneficial for 8th-grade students who, amidst the COVID-19 lockdown when schools were closed, found themselves preparing directly for 10th-grade examinations. Leveraging the E-learning kit, once schools resumed, they were able to cover the 9th-grade syllabus while already in the 10th grade, facilitating a smooth academic transition.
