Fellowship
Fellowships are designed for graduate students who are in the early stages of planning for Masters Programs in public health, epidemiology, international health, global health, health in developing countries and similar programs
This program will provide hands-on experience to students who wish to work in developing countries, rural and urban settings and certainly will be valuable for resume building.
The design for the fellowship is flexible depending on the available projects at the time and the interested of the applicants. These projects can vary from agriculture studies to gender equity programs. There is a wide variety of options available to students.
Eligibility Requirements

- Following this communication, the fellowship design can be confirmed and students are expected to complete the further requirements. You must have email confirmation from HMF prior to preparation of the application.
- Students must show proof of graduation from a recognized university
- Students must show an interest in public health related fields
- Students must be prepared to stay at HMF headquarters for a minimum of 6 to 12 months (minimum of 180 days is mandatory).
- Students from any country are eligible to apply, but must speak English. Students may also benefit from being able to speak local languages (Hindi and Marathi).
- Students must obtain their visa and cover the cost of their travel expenses. Accommodations and meals will be provided by HMF.
- Students must present a recent background check completed by the local police authorities of their respective nation.
Documents Required – All files must be in 12 point, Times New Roman font, single spaced in PDF format.
Statement of Purpose – Students must provide HMF with information on why they wish to apply to the fellowship, their interested in public health studies and willingness to commit to stay at HMF headquarters for a minimum of 180 days. The statement of purpose must be between 1000 and 1500 words.

A scanned copy of proof of graduation
At least 2 references
One from a previous professor or academic advisor
One from a prior colleague or project advisor
A recent wallet sized photograph in .jpg format
